Klub Żak announces Open Call for the Residency / Premiere 2025. We are waiting for applications until February 28, 2025!

Open Call is aimed at the groups from 2 to 5 dancers working on the joint project. The residency is addressed to dancers from Poland, i.e. Polish citizens or foreigners who have been living in Poland for at least two years at the time of submitting the application. The performance selected in the competition will be performed at the Żak Club during the residency lasting from May 5 to 17, 2025. The finale of the project will be the premiere show of the effects of two weeks of work on the Żak Club stage, scheduled for May 18, 2025.

Participation in the residency will not only be an opportunity to work together on the project submitted to the competition. As always, it will also be a chance to cooperate with respected personas from the world of dance who support participants of the residency in the creative process. During this year's edition, Judith Schoeneveld, a playwright associated with the contemporary dance company Ivgi&Greben, will act as a mentor. She will help in building the dramaturgy and narrative of the performance, and will indicate potential directions for new artistic explorations.

Recruitment starts on January 7, 2025, and we are waiting for applications until February 28, 2025!
Additionally, people participating in the residency will receive:
- funds for the production of the performance in the amount of PLN 6,000 to PLN 12,000 (depending on the number of people involved in its production),
- accommodation for the duration of the residence,
- possibility of using the rehearsal space,
- 2 days of dress rehearsals on stage with acoustic and lighting staff,
- pre-premiere promotion.

We invite to send an application groups of 2 to 5 people who:

- have Polish citizenship, or have been resident in Poland for at least two years at the time of submitting the application,

- dance professionally,

- have joint projects in the field of contemporary dance carried out between March 1, 2022 and February 28, 2025.
